We are proud to support the Sunshine Coast Council with their Crafting a Circular Economy - Conversation series. Please find event description below:
As the annual global movement ‘Plastic Free July’ begins, we realised there is no better time to jump into our second episode of our Circular Conversation series!
Are you wanting to expand your knowledge and work towards practising more sustainable habits, most especially in your work environment?
Be part of our second conversation and join the change-makers crafting a circular economy approach to business. The Circular Conversation series stars serial collaborators who believe in reducing waste, increasing efficiencies and creating exceptional products and services to continue to find improved and new ways of doing things.
Our next episode in the series is hosted at Your Mates Brewery with co-owners Matt Hepburn and Christen McGarry, and Bernie Craven from Waste Free Systems.
Matt and Christen will share what steps they are taking to avoid single-use plastics and embrace re-use options, being great ambassadors for Reef Check, as part of a Plastic Free July special. They will open up about why they are passionate about adopting other sustainability initiatives across their microbrewery business and in the community.
Bernie is a hairdresser come circular economy innovator, who has identified an opportunity to take plastics and other waste from salons and create prosthetic limbs for children in need. A serial collaborator, Bernie can be found connecting with a rafter of businesses and researchers to seek exciting circular economy outcomes that have commercial benefit.
Hosted by a man who never accepts the status quo, Todd Widdicombe. This series aims not just to share stories, but to stimulate ideas, make connections and create opportunities for the Sunshine Coast to accelerate a local circular economy.
Has there ever been a better time to challenge how we do things? Let’s create less waste, better business outcomes, improve efficiencies, and collaborate more!
These conversations are going to be open, interactive, and powerful. We can’t wait to have you join in!
You could also be a lucky winner of a $100 dining voucher! Simply nominate someone that you think is doing good things in the circular economy space, briefly tell us their story on your Facebook profile* or on this Facebook event and hashtag #circularshiftsc (*don't forget to make the post public, so that we can see it).
